I first met Lionel Milgrom when I went to visit him at Nelson’s for his interview for my book Looking Back Moving Forward . I had read his numerous email contributions on the Society of Homeopaths intranet system, First Class, and his shear brilliance and captivating writing style had totally intrigued me. I was excited about spending a couple of hours in his company. This was back in 2004 and now nearly four years on, we meet regularly for lunch and riveting conversations about homeopathy, science and life.

What can I tell you about him? Well, he qualified as a homeopath from the London College of Homeopathy in 1999 and has been practicing ever since both from home and at Nelsons and Ainsworths in London. He received his RSHom in 2004 and was a director of the Society for a couple of years resigning in 2007. He now focuses on seeing patients at his home in North London.

He is one of the few people in the world conducting research into how homeopathy actually works and over the last five years has had articles published in peer-reviewed academic journals on practically everything he will be talking about with you in his session. He has also written about his work in the Society of Homeopath’s Journal.

For the passed thirty years (so prior to his life as a homeopath and during) he has been a university academic scientist and lecturer, which has involved teaching and conducting research in various branches of chemistry. He has therefore a great deal of experience delivering complex material to students and has spoken at many international scientific conferences.

He is a science writer with many articles published in broadsheet newspapers and magazines. This is probably because he has the ability to make comprehensible his complex ideas to the ‘lay’ public, an essential pre-requisite for success in this field.

He has spent the last five years setting up and running a biotechnology company specialising in a new form of cancer therapy that uses light to ‘knockout’ tumours. Consequently, he has an unusually clear insight into the thinking of scientists engaged in bio-medicine and is able to see the flaws in their arguments when they attack homeopathy!

Lionel is now using his ideas to see how they might impact on other healing disciplines including conventional medicine.
