Marlborough Road Methodist Church, St Albans, AL1 3XQ

The church hall is located on Marlborough Road, off Victoria Street and is a one way street, going from London Road to Victoria Street.

Going by train

First Capital Connect provides a regular service between St Pancras International and Bedford and stops at St Albans City Train Station providing both fast (20 minutes from Kings Cross) and slow trains (40 minutes).  Do check that the train stops in St Albans as a very small number do not. Please check First Capital Connect for train timetables. From the station it is a 10 minute walk.  Taxis will cost approx £3.00. Direction from the station  (click on 'From here' and put in AL1 3TD)  To walk go straight out of the smaller western station exit (left hand side when going from London) and onto Victoria Street.  Walk along until 3rd set of traffic lights, left is Marlborough Road, and on your right is the Methodist church.

Going by car

  • From North – A1081 through center of town then first on London Road
  • From South – M25, Junction 22, for A1081, keep following approx 5km, right into Marlborough Road
  • From East – A1057 Hatfield Road, follow signs to station, and past on Victoria Street, Left onto Latimore Road, right onto London Road, right into Marlborough Road
  • From West – A5183 Verulam Road, straight at crossroads onto London Road, first left into Marlborough Road

Parking options map
    • The closest car parking is the NCP Maltings Multi Storey Car Park. Charges:  Over 6 hours £10.00  Accessed either from: Marlborough Road itself, and you have to come by London Road and left into it; OR Victoria Road, as you go into centre of St Albans, go past Marlborough Road and then on up hill, it is just before the pelican crossing. You go to Ground level and into the Maltings shopping mall where there are several pay machines by the lifts Please note that this car park is closed at 8.30pm.
    • The Drovers Way Car Park is cheaper ( Up to 5 hours £2.70 and up to 24 hours £7.00) and free after 6.30 pm. It open 24 hours, it will takes 5 minutes to walk to Marlborough Road map.
    • There may be spaces in the St Albans Station Multi-Storey Car Park and St Albans City Station Surface Car Park a little further away. This is off Victoria Street, crossroads traffic lights for station, turn right away from station. Then it is a 7-10 minute walk along Victoria Street.
    • The nearest place to park for free is on Brampton Road. To get there go along Clarence Road and first crossroads is Brampton Road. It will then be a 10-15 min walk to the church, quicker if you cut across Clarence Park, going past children’s playground and up ramp coming out nearly opposite Station Way.
